Our First Wedding

So there was a wedding this weekend, and hey-ho, it was our first bride-groom client! We were mighty excited and made these for them. Weeee~

Here are the hantaran cupcakes. They're turquoise and purple with hints of silver to follow the wedding theme colours and they're inspired by traditional Malay wedding ornaments. We have the compulsory "Tepak Sireh" in the middle, escorted left and right by the traditional attire for Malay bride and groom. Then we have, below the Tepak Sireh, the groom's headgear or "Tanjak" and the traditional Malay weaponry, "Keris". The four damask designs bordering the rest of the cupcakes mimics a "Songket" design pattern up close.

Makes you want to get married everyday now, doesn't it?

The 2-tier wedding cake was a turquoise gradient rosette strawberry cake and a purple gradient ruffle cake, adorned with silver orchids.

The best part of the cake (as is many other things), is the 'soul': 4 layers of strawberry cake with whipped strawberry French cream (that tastes just like strawberry ice-cream!) and 4 layers of dark chocolate cake with Oreos cream cheese Swiss meringue buttercream.

Phew! That was a mouthful, oh, and, so is the cake!
