Black, White and Gold Rocky Road

One of our closest friends was getting married and we couldn't pass up the chance to create these beauties for her hantaran gifts for her husband. The wedding theme was black, white and gold (oh-so-classically romantic!) and we got to working on these black velvet cake and cupcake set. The main cake was covered with a rocky road marshmallow fondant, with a glistening gemstone crystal effect, topped with a handmade black and white peony with just a tint of gold on the tips of the petals.

Sorry, we went a little picture crazy with this one. Enjoy!

Rustic Glam Wedding {D + M}

We had the pleasure of designing a wedding cake, croquembouche and homemade marshmallows for Diba and Mahathir's "Rustic Glam" wedding over the weekend.

The wedding was ah-ma-zing-ly beautiful, set at the Lake Club in Putrajaya. Kudos to the bride and groom for braving an outdoor reception in this unpredictable Malaysian weather, but they managed to pull it off flawlessly!

Photos of the yummies, if you please:

Diba wanted a twist to her cream puff flavours, so the couple opted for a half lychee and half pandan creme anglais filling for the croquembouche.

The homemade (no corn syrup) marshmallows were dipped in melted dark chocolate and chopped almonds and pistachios.

The 5-tier wedding cake was a sweet take of the bride's favourite green tea and strawberries cake by Lanka, a Japanese bakery based in London.

Mother's Favourite Flower

Zarina ordered some 150 cupcakes and a cake for her mother's birthday, falling of which coincidently on her wedding day. Zarina and her father planned it as a surprise as they know her mother would be too busy to prepare anything special on that day for herself. And so the guests of Zarina's solemnisation, attended by close family and friends were treated to some chocolatey goodness made especially by us.

It was the sweetest sentiment, and we were more than happy to oblige to the order, even though our schedule was cramped with the following week's wedding cake preparations.

What we wouldn't give to see the smile on her mother's face!

Rayyan the Lion's Roar-ing 1st Birthday Party

So here are the photos from Rayyan's Roar-ing Party, as promised. Details, deco and cakes were made exclusively by us while Rayyan's Mama, Wan and Aunty Jessie made his wonderful jungle photo booth and scrumptious food.

Storybooks and Lions

It was our nephew, Rayyan's 1st birthday and we made a huge storybook cake for his guests to devour. His Mama and Baba decided on a Lion-themed birthday party, and we have more photos to follow of the event itself later. But for now, here are some of the cakes we made:

It reads: "Once upon a time" on one side...

...and "there was a lion named Rayyan" on the other.

Oh, and here's the smash cake we made for the birthday boy, a gradient swirl buttercream covered cake in peach and mint green, with a Lion topper made out of fondant.

We think Rayyan was quite impressed.

Stay tuned for the photos from his Roar-ing First Birthday Party!

Antique Flowers and Vintage Gold

And here's another wedding cake we made for a beautiful bride. It has antique-looking flowers in peach with vintage gold leaves, set on a mint green buttercream covered cake.

Pearls and Ribbon Roses

So it's that time of the year again. Weddings.

Here's the Pearls and Ribbon Rose wedding hantaran cake we made for Datin Paduka Norshiha's son, Ashraf.

It was all peachy orange outside and moist chocolate and peanut buttery on the inside.

Thank you for the order, Datin Paduka!
